Communication platform for mechanical engineering and industry

What lies in store for you at FMB-Süd

FMB-Süd brings together design engineers, product developers and buyers and covers the entire supply chain of mechanical engineering – from metalworking to drive, electrical and control engineering and assembly and goods handling technology through to industry-related services and robotics. The trade show creates a backdrop for the preparation and communication of the latest innovative technologies and the implementation thereof. It offers a blend of regional and national exhibitors – both global players and specialised SMEs are represented there. The compact workshop character of the show provides a platform where decision-makers from the field of mechanical engineering and their suppliers can engage in down-to-earth, informative and face-to-face discussions. This concept, which has proven successful in the northern half of Germany since 2005, started with FMB-Süd in Augsburg in 2017.

In the heart of the market: The location Augsburg

The economic region of Augsburg is among the most dynamic regions in Germany. It is located in the heart of the strongest industrial areas of Germany - the technological hub of the south referred to as "Technologieachse Süd": Karlsruhe, Stuttgart, Ulm, Augsburg, München – and brings together leading technological sectors from the areas of mechanical engineering, automotive, lightweight engineering, aerospace, logistics and IT services. In the immediate catchment area of the trade show alone, more than 650 manufacturers, predominantly composed of small and medium-sized businesses with over 130,000 employees, generate an annual turnover of some 28 billion euros. In addition to mechanical engineering, the focus here also lies on the manufacturing industry. The reason for this is the very strong presence of manufacturing companies in the south of Germany. Situated in the heart of the technological hub of the south referred to as "Technologieachse Süd”, the exhibition site is easily accessible by car or public transport, and is both a strong and dynamic location with a disproportionally high share of manufacturing companies.
