The high number of bookings is indicative of the fact that the exhibitors achieved their objectives at FMB 2015 as well. Many of them booked their stands for 2016 while still at the show in 2015 or shortly afterwards, not just those who have been coming to the show for many years but also more than 15 first-time exhibitors at the 2015 event. Moreover, as of 12 January 2016, FMB has received 12 bookings from companies which will be exhibiting at the show for the very first time this year.
As a result thereof, the continual growth of FMB is set to carry on in the twelfth year of its existence. There has been an almost threefold increase in the number of participating companies since the first event.
The exhibitors cover the entire spectrum of supply components for mechanical and plant engineering. Drive and control engineering are represented just as much as assembly and handling technology, metalworking and plastics processing companies as well as skilled service providers operating in areas such as logistics, service and product development.
Despite the continual growth of the fair, its concept will be essentially the same in in 2016 as well. Christian Enßle: "The focal point is clearly on communication. FMB is the place where engineers, buyers and decision-makers come together to engage in intensive discussions concerning potential joint projects and to collaborate with a view to developing solutions."
Owing to the fact that the trade fair organiser offers complete service packages comprising furniture and catering, FMB is an ideal market place for smaller companies in particular to establish contacts with new clients. Market leaders such as Bosch Rexroth, Festo, igus, Lenze, SEW Eurodrive and Siemens are also represented at the show each year as well as joint stands of mechanical engineering associations from abroad such as the Danish association "Koninklijke Metaalunie". The Leading-edge Cluster "Intelligente Technische Systeme – it´s OWL" will, of course, be attending FMB 2016, where findings from its research will be presented once again, thus providing visitors with an outlook on future developments for production in conformity with Industry 4.0.
