Fresh impetus for innovations

Trade fairs create momentum: Suppliers to the mechanical engineering sector present their products and services in a compact manner at the FMB-Süd. This makes the show the ideal forum for decision-makers in the field of mechanical engineering seeking to improve their design engineering, to try out new ideas or put innovations into practice, thereby improving their competitive position.

The signs are unmistakable: The boom enjoyed by the mechanical and plant engineering sector has come to a provisional end. The German Engineering Association VDMA is expecting a two percent decline for 2019, for 2020 the prognosis (referred to as optimistic) is a drop of two percent as well.

Although this is, of course, not good news, decision-makers in the field of mechanical engineering can also see some positive aspects – at least behind closed doors – after many years of operating at full capacity and beyond. Now, the attitude is that the companies finally have more time at their disposal to optimise their products, to put new technologies to the test and to establish contacts with new suppliers.

The FMB-Süd, taking place in Augsburg on 12th and 13th February 2020, provides the ideal forum to start implementing these plans. More than one hundred exhibitors have already booked their stands and will be showcasing their ranges of products and services for the mechanical engineering sector in a compact form.

For the fourth time now, visitors to the fair will be provided with a compact overview of the mechanical engineering supply chain – extending from metalworking to drive, electrical and control engineering and assembly and handling technology, right through to industry-related services and robotics.

Visitors to the event can, for instance, initiate contacts with new suppliers for metalworking, sheet metal forming and machining (Almetec, Aussieker, Blewitec, Dirostahl, Esser Metallbau, Frei Zerspanungstechnik, Grützmann Feinmechanik, Kinkele, Kusatec, MBH Maschinenbau + Blechtechnik, Metal-Work, Pillen Precision…).

For anyone interested in alternative drive solutions, it is well worth paying a visit to the stands of, for example, Bahr Modultechnik, Ewellix, G&G Antriebstechnik, Gemoteg, Habasit, Hitachi Drives & Automation, Hiwin, igus, I+F, Indunorm, Knapp and Dr. Erich Tretter. Mechanical engineering companies can also avail themselves of the expertise of exhibitors such as Feldpausch, RK Rose+Krieger and Taktomat in order to optimise their own production or to put the automation or interconnectedness of their machines into practice.

This list could easily be extended, for example by adding leading specialists in the field of surface technology, electrical and control engineering as well as industry-related services. The FMB-Süd covers the entire spectrum. Decision-makers in mechanical engineering are thus provided with numerous opportunities to take away suggestions and stimuli with a view to optimising their product portfolio, and to establish contacts with new suppliers for future collaboration.
