The Mechatronics and Automation Cluster comprises 176 enterprises engaged in mechanical engineering and automation technology – including "heavyweights" such as B&R, Kuka, MAN Diesel & Turbo and Wittenstein as well as numerous specialised SMEs from a variety of fields of mechanical engineering and diverse research institutes. All of them are based in the southern half of Germany.
The profile of the Cluster thus fits in perfectly with the trade show FMB-Süd, which will be staged in Augsburg for the first time on 15 and 16 February 2017. The objective of the fair is to present interesting solutions for efficient production to the industrial companies in the south, and, in doing so, to promote networking and personal discussions between the exhibitors and trade visitors.
This concept is already successful in the northern half of the country with FMB - the supplier show for mechanical engineering (which will be held in Bad Salzuflen for the twelfth time from 9 to 11 November 2016). At the request of many exhibi-tors, this concept will be transferred to the technological hub of the south for the first time in February 2017.
Christian Enßle, Portfolio Manager FMB: "We are delighted to have acquired a cooperation partner with such an active network and top-class members. Over the next few months, we will be working on concepts regarding the presentation of the cluster at the show and how we can work together in concrete terms."
Heiko Bartschat, Spokesman of the Cluster Mechatronik & Automation: "The synergies of our cluster and the trade show are blatantly obvious: Both target industrial companies in the southern half of Germany, particularly those based at the southern technological hub, and both promote the cooperation and networking of the members among each other and with the trade visitors. The new show provides our members with an outstanding opportunity to showcase their innova-tions, products and solutions. And we as a cluster can also demonstrate our efficiency at FMB-Süd."
