As was the case at the début in February 2017, the trade show organiser Clarion Events has once again succeeded in acquiring the Cluster Mechatronics & Auto-mation as a cooperation partner of the second FMB-Süd. The Cluster Management will take advantage of the trade show in Augsburg as a communication platform and recommend FMB-Süd to its members.
The Cluster Mechatronics & Automation comprises 176 companies operating in the field of mechanical engineering and automation technology – including “heavy-weights” such as B&R, Kuka, MAN Diesel and Turbo und Wittenstein as well as numerous specialised SMEs from various areas of mechanical engineering and diverse research institutes.
The second cooperation partner of FMB-Süd is the SMEs 4.0 - Centre of Excel-lence, which is based in Augsburg and lends its support to small and medium-sized companies in the implementation of digitalisation and Industry 4.0 projects. The Centre of Excellence is headed by Fraunhofer-Einrichtung für Gießerei-, Composite- und Verarbeitungstechnik (IGCV) (Fraunhofer Institute for Casting, Composite and Processing Technology) in Augsburg. Additional partners of the Centre include Technische Universität München (Munich University of Applied Sciences) – Chair of Materials Handling Technology, Material Flow and Logistics), the Institute for Machine Tools and Industrial Management (IWB) and VDMA Bayern (Mechanical Engineering Association).
The trade show organiser has thus been able to bring in two strong partners boasting an outstanding network in the industry – particularly in manufacturing companies located at the technological hub of the South. Both the Cluster and the Centre of Excellence will be involved, among other things, in the organisation of the lecture programme to be held on both days of the event. The programme is still being put together at the present time.
