FMB-Süd 2019 will not only be the first trade show of the year for the organizer but also for many exhibitors and visitors. The final number of exhibiting companies has yet to be determined. At its debut in 2017, 144 exhibitors showcased their products and services for mechanical engineering and industry, this year the number rose to 188. Christian Enßle, Portfolio Manager of the trade show organizer Clarion Events Deutschland GmbH: “This time last year we had the same number of bookings as we have at the moment – and there are still seven months to go before the start of the show.”
The exhibition site in the heart of the technological hub of the south, which stretches from Karlsruhe to Stuttgart to Munich, has proven its worth. There is a dense concentration of market leaders and specialists in the areas of mechanical engineering, automotive, lightweight engineering, logistics and the aerospace industry. In the region of Augsburg alone, over 650 industrial enterprises with over 130,000 members of staff generate an annual turnover of some 28 billion euros.
The Mechatronics & Automation Cluster will take advantage of FMB-Süd as a platform for information and cooperation and does not only recommend its members to participate in the event as a visitor or even as an exhibitor. Cluster Manager Heiko Bartschat: “Decision-makers in industry are provided with ideas for raising productivity in their manufacturing operations at FMB-Süd – but the show also enables developers, or those engaged in production or maintenance to approach the exhibitors with specific questions and discuss solutions with them. This makes FMB particularly appealing to the visitors, and manufacturers of components and service providers are offered the right forum in which to present their products and services covering all aspects of mechatronics.”
The SMEs 4.0 Centre of Excellence in Augsburg, which provides consultancy services to manufacturing companies in digitization projects, will also be showcasing its (free) range of services at FMB-Süd.
In comparison to the FMB in Bad Salzuflen, materials engineering and lightweight engineering will account for a large part of the exhibition program since, for example, the processing of composites is among the key areas of expertise of the region. Assembly and handling technology as well as automation engineering will also be heavily represented. Leading manufacturers such as Bihl + Wiedemann, Hitachi Drives & Automation, Kawasaki Robotics, Rose + Krieger and Taktomat have already booked their stands for FMB-Süd 2019.
Clarion Events will be staging an information day at the Conference Centre of Augsburg Exhibition Centre on 18 September 2018 aimed at potential exhibitors who have not yet made a decision. Interested companies can register by email (email@example.com).
