Monitoring of repetitive manufacturing processes

Description

The Model 410C01 amplifier and signal conditioner, in combination with PCB’s piezoelectric force and strain sensors, is suitable for monitoring and recording the force flow during repetitive joining, forming or cutting processes. This helps to detect the force peaks occurring on forming machines and thus to counteract premature wear, among other things.
The unit is equipped with an ICP/IEPE input to which force, strain or pressure sensors can be connected. Thanks to the adjustable AC/DC coupling and the wide frequency bandwidth, quasi-static and highly dynamic measurements can be carried out. The unit can be synchronised with the machine cycle, and the analogue outputs for the measurement signal and the peak value (hold output) can be forwarded to a PLC.
The signal conditioner can be configured with the aid of free software. The zero point, the signal polarity and the amplification factor can be set. During configuration, the measured signals can also be visualised.
A combination option for monitoring and recording the force flow is offered by the strain sensors of the RHM240 series. These have been specially developed for use in industrial environments. The sensors with ICP/IEPE output are available with different measuring ranges between 50 and 300 µε. The transducers are mounted via a central through bolt in the force shunt away from the direct force flow.
