Sensors for vibration monitoring on paper machines

Description

Vibration measurements on machines in paper production and processing increase the operational reliability of the plant and improve production efficiency. The permanent recording and analysis of machine vibrations enable the detection of changes in condition so that necessary maintenance work can be planned in advance and cost-effectively.
Rolling bearings are highly stressed components in rotating production machines. Damage or total failure of these components affects the quality of the product and causes additional costs. The bearing points are located, among other things, in hot, wet or other potentially explosive areas that are only partially accessible for maintenance and service technicians
A circumstance that can be easily adapted with well thought-out instrumentation.
The industrial vibration sensors of the 6xx series from PCB Piezotronics are characterised by a double-walled, hermetically sealed stainless steel housing, which on the one hand serves as mechanical protection against environmental influences and contamination and on the other hand acts as a faraday cage that prevents electrical interference. The galvanic separation of the sensor element and the subsequent measuring chain from the sensor housing prevents ground loops and noise.
