Spartan™ noise dosimeter for oppupational health and safety

The Spartan™ Model 730 from Larson Davis is a compact dosimeter for assessing noise in the workplace and calculating noise exposure. The instrument meets the requirements of IEC 61252 and is suitable for noise measurements in accordance with ISO 9612.
The device, which measures only 85 x 54 x 39 mm and has IP65 protection, weighs only 112 grams. The lithium-ion battery is charged wirelessly via a Qi charger or via the USB interface and lasts approx. 40 hours. Communication is via Bluetooth. The internal memory has a capacity of 8 GB and enables the recording of raw data. All device settings and the start of noise recording are done with the help of the Larson Davis Atlas™ app, for iOS™ and Android™, via a smartphone or tablet.
For a measurement campaign, the dosimeter is attached to the employee’s clothing at shoulder height. The noise data is available in the Atlas™ app via Bluetooth immediately after the start of the measurement and is automatically transferred to the display/evaluation device after the recording has ended. With the app, the measurement data is managed and reports are created and sent by e-mail. In addition to the noise events, movements and impacts are also registered, and octave filters are optionally available for selecting suitable hearing protection.
